Detroit artists Steve and Dorota Coy invented the Hygienic Dress League -- a duly registered corporation -- as an ongoing art project -- a way to explore issues connected with the branding and marketing that permeate American life. It's a company that manufactures nothing but its own hype in the form of paintings on buildings around Detroit (i.e. the abandoned Hotel Eddystone at Woodward Avenue and Sproat Street).
